Topaz Smith, MA
Hello! I am Topaz Smith, MA
Therapist
Hello, my name is Topaz Bacchus, and I am a graduate student at Walden University, pursuing a master's degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling, and holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Queens College.
I utilize an integrative therapeutic approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and feminist-informed frameworks to create a supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where clients can build self-awareness, emotional regulation, and healing.
I have experience working with women navigating maternal and perinatal mental health concerns, grief, ambiguous loss, and relational rupture, as well as relational and attachment-related challenges rooted in early caregiver experiences. My work also includes supporting clients through life transitions and emotional stressors that impact identity, relationships, and overall well-being.
I am passionate about helping clients develop insight, strengthen emotional resilience, and move toward healing and self-actualization.
In the future, I aspire to develop a Maternal Mental Health Resource and Support Center that provides accessible care, education, and consultation for mothers and families. I am also interested in creating a faith-based therapeutic early childhood center that integrates emotional wellness and developmental support within a nurturing childcare environment.
Topaz is under the direct supervision of Chanel Toson, LPC 010662.
