Cayla Howard

I am currently pursuing a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Valdosta State University. I am a Mental Health Counselor Intern at Creative Touch Counseling Center, LLC, where I provide counseling services under the supervision of Kimberly Maughon, LPC.

My interest in mental health has been shaped by both personal experiences and my professional background in helping and educational settings. These experiences have deepened my desire to support individuals as they navigate emotional challenges, life transitions, and personal growth.

In my work, I take a collaborative, client-centered approach that emphasizes thoughtful conversation, emotional awareness, and practical skill-building. I strive to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and patterns while developing tools to manage stress, regulate emotions, and move toward meaningful change. When helpful, I may also incorporate mindfulness practices and creative or expressive techniques to support self-exploration and emotional expression in ways that feel accessible and authentic.

My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered as they work through life’s challenges and pursue personal growth.
